The weather was challenging through the entire event as storms rolled through overnight into the early morning. The rain cleared during the morning but high winds with crazy strong gusts were the rule for the remainder of day.

1st PLACE: Indiana’s Steve Jeffers and Jeff Bookwalter literally persevered through the storms and wind upgrading 3 fish while the wind was gusting up to 40mph. Black/Chartruese Hair jigs and Bobby Garland baits produced the winning weight of 10.13 lbs. and a check for $3200. The team also scored Second Big Fish for $300.00 targeting brush and stake beds while one poling with B’n’M poles. The team reported the key for them was putting the jig right down on top of the fish and that they had to be VERY patient to get the crappie to hit.
