National Crappie League Headed To Carlyle Lake: Press Release

The National Crappie League is organizing a Division I tournament on Carlyle Lake, hosted by the Clinton County Tourism, Discover Downstate Illinois and the City of Carlyle. The tournament is scheduled to take place on May 4, 2024, and is intended for amateur and semi-pro anglers. The tournament payout will be 100% plus an additional contribution of $25.00 per boat from NCL. The entry fee for each team is $300.00, while memberships cost $50.00 per person. If you haven’t registered before midnight on April 28, 2024, a late fee of $25.00 will apply.

The pre-tournament meeting and late registration will take place on May 3, 2024, at Mariner’s Village Resort, 1 Resort Dr., Carlyle, IL. Late registration and check-in will be between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, while the tournament meeting will commence at 6:00 PM.

Anglers will fish from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and the weigh-in will take place at the Dam West Boat Ramp, 5 Marine Rd, Carlyle, IL. The off-water limits are until 4:00 PM on May 3, 2024. Anglers who wish to participate in the weigh-in must be in the weigh-in line by 3:30 PM. The weigh-in is open to the public.

Additionally, a free kids fishing rodeo sponsored by NCL and DMF Baits will take place on May 4, 2024, at Carylyle Visitors Center, Corp of Engineers parking lot. Registration for kids will be open from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, and the fishing will commence from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
